What is Depression?

Depression is characterized by feelings of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness. People suffering from depression often find little or no pleasure in daily activities. You may sleep a lot or very little and you may feel fatigue or a loss of energy. You may also find it difficult to concentrate and feel worthless or guilty.  Depression can be very serious, even leading to thoughts of death or suicide.

Common Depressive Thoughts

 “I’m a burden”

“I don’t want to wake up”

“I’m never going to get better”

“I’m a failure”

“Nothing makes me happy”
